Hello, world.

As 2025 comes around (as it’s actually the first day of winter), I feel encouraged to finally put the proverbial pen to paper. This blog is a journey through my life experiences and eye-opening realizations of how the world works. My aim is to “brain dump” as much of what I know as I can make comprehensible through poor storytelling abilities.

The first time I had the idea of writing my life story was around the age of 10. We were in the family car driving south along a picturesque highway in late spring. I was seated in my familiar position: back row center. Probably alternating foot kicks of the rear of the center console. The most vivid aspect of the moment was realizing, right then and there with the sun shining bright against the grass and the trees along the embarkments of the highway, that I would share my experience with the world.

I have spent countless days and unlimited nights dreaming about the book title, the subtitle, the artistic expression of the book cover art, the font, whether my birth name would be printed - or whether a pen name would be adopted to reflect my favorite author (at the time and to this day), Stephen King.

Since that car ride to someplace further south than where the day started, presumably, I have taken to mentally reframing every moment as a nugget to a story. Part directeur cinématographe, part portraiteur, part écrivain, part je ne sais quoi.

Hey, I was only 10 years old, OKAY? It was the beginning moment of artistic inspiration! At least I wasn’t wearing a fedora, my right hand wasn’t sporting a white glove, my lips were not gently piping a cigarette (much to my dad’s chagrin, probably).

In the ensuing years, a lot has changed… except for my comma splices. I freely include commas as a method to allow the reader, dear reader, to remember to breathe and understand that every word is carefully chosen as to not make the readability of the entire sentence too much of a chore. Reading should be relatively pleasant. Sorry, not sorry.

I don’t know what I will share next. If you find this mildly interesting, please share the blog (geni.btw.so) on your socials!
